Fun fact about the tower of Pisa: it started leaning as it was being built, so the floors are not all parallel with each other. Rather than demolish the partially-built structure when it started leaning (due to unstable soil), the builders compensated as they went up.
Hmm, science, old lit & random weird facts served me decently! If there had been any 90s movies in there, I would have really been playing to my strengths ;p
It took 3 visits before my dad came to visit me at a time of year when it was feasible to drive up to the Reichenbach Falls -- totally worth it as we both got a huge kick out of it (he used to read the stories to me when I was little), though I'm sure he was thinking about Jeremy Brett while I was mostly imagining Benedict Cumberbatch.
When are we doing live open-thread comment-section trivia?? BYOB!
Terrific idea! And I have to confess that while I am a huge fan of Benedict Cumberbatch, Jeremy Brett is the Sherlock Holmes I picture when I read the stories.
Same -- they're almost two separate characters to me at this point. I had the old PBS violin theme in my head the whole time we were hiking around, too <3
Right?! Or how about when they found a giant squid washed up on shore, and a scientist tasted it (it tastes like ammonia, apparently). Or the 3000-year-old cheese. Or any other crazy thing scientists have tasted because science!

Whoa! That is fascinating! Thanks for the info!

Apparently my areas of expertise are history, freaks, and Seinfeld. That seems accurate.
No wonder we get along so well!
Not cheating...
Gonna call "True" on all of the first 10... (though back half seem suspicious).
Misc:
1) Pug and not really familiar with dog breeds so walking away
2) order of operations in math - parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction
3) Sherlock Holmes
4) Highlywyle
5) IIRC we estimate there have been 100 billion people to walk the planet, so 7 percent?
6) Sharks?
7) Never read them...
8) Not familiar with him so.... Egyptian?
9) I'm embarrassed to be blanking on this one
10) Milk?
An admirable effort!
(Takes notes) talk about math on first dates, got it!
Also, who was brave enough to try to drink humpback whale milk...
