I'm so glad you can find faith in the beauty of the world around you! I feel the same way (and can't wait to experience that faith and beauty together when we are in Bern!!!!). :-)
As always, Mari, your words are strikingly relatable and inspirational. I know now how I’ll spend my dad’s Yahrzeit: playing mini golf. For 20 years, his Father’s Day gift was for the two of us (and sometimes my sister) to play a round of either 3-par golf, 9 holes of regular ol’ golf, or, as his leg circulation became impaired, mini golf. I think it was one of the happiest days of his year because he knew I was choosing to do his favorite thing with him (it’s the only day of the year I golfed). Thank you for sharing the story of your hike which transported me, the story of your dad which filled my heart, and the John Green quote paired with God sightings, which reminded me to open my eyes and truly see. 🩷
Oh, thank you for this beautiful comment! And what a perfect way to honor your dad—he would be so happy to know that you are playing a round of miniature golf and thinking about him.
I loved Harry Schindele, and I love that he walked with you on the hike. He walked with me during a rough time in my life. You write so well.
Thank you so much for these kind words, and for the memory of Dad’s kindness to you!

I just hope it will stop raining!
Oh well. Rain schmain! We'll have fun regardless.
You are very special and insightful. Love you. L
Love you too, Louise.
